I submitted these too late to make it into the book (plus Jason felt they were a bit too close to ideas he'd already laid out - which I take as a compliment) but I figure they may give some would-be outlaws something to do (if not a starting point for something larger):

1} A group of (locally) high-level OGRE execs meet regularly at the lavish, newly renovated Commodore Hotel bar to throw their weight (and cash) around on Wednesday nights. Wealth, inebriation and hubris make for trouble and opportunity.

2} The Copperhead County Sheriff's Department has struck deal with the state government to destroy their (and those of a few other counties) confiscated firearms on the 22nd of this month at Moon Mountain in Slayton. If no-one stops the lightly guarded truck from reaching its destination, that is.

3} The Heathens MC is set to ride down 205; gathering at the Tennakee Travel Center; then renting out the majority of a cheap hotel in Wodiga. They'll be thirsty, horny and looking to party.

4} An entrepreneurial female student of Patterson State University is running "sugar babies" out of Bookman's on certain nights. A taste of wealth and the flirt with danger has been fun, thus far, but things may change once the College Street Crew learns of it.

5} A fella hijacked a jet airliner in the 1970s and jumped out of it with bags of crisp $20 bills, never to be seen or heard from again. Ol' Maynard Gibbs, a life-long resident (and local "colorful eccentric") of The Hollows is claiming he found something in Billow Bog related to the event... after buying a brand new pick-up truck with cash.

Hope y'all enjoy!

No doubt! While it may not have lightning barriers and ghosts (in a literal sense), Copperhead County absolutely possesses a particular aesthetic that I have clearly established in my head.
